Cabinet Vision alternatives
Mozaik, PolyBoard, imos and CabiAI compared

The short answer: choose by your machines, not by the feature list. A Homag, Biesse or SCM line — imos, which connects to their systems, or PolyBoard Pro PP, sold as a lifetime licence at a published price. Several machine types — router, point-to-point, panel saw — from one program: that is what Cabinet Vision is built for. A Windows shop that wants ready-made post-processors on a monthly plan — Mozaik. A CNC router that works from DXF, and design in the browser with no install, on Windows or Mac — CabiAI.

Where CabiAI fits better

Five questions before you choose

  1. Which file does your machine run? DXF, or G-code through a post-processor — most options are open. The native format of Homag, Biesse or SCM — ask to see the software produce it; imos and PolyBoard Pro PP state it on their websites.
  2. How do you want to pay? Mozaik on a monthly plan, PolyBoard as a lifetime licence at a published price, Cabinet Vision and imos by quote.
  3. Which computer will you use? A Mac in the shop, or a computer you are not allowed to install software on, narrows the list fast.
  4. Who will sit at it? A full-time drafter gets more out of a big system. A cabinetmaker who designs alone in the evening needs something you learn while working.
  5. How many cabinets a month? As volume grows, the connection to the production line is worth more than any saving on the subscription.

A fair test — the same cabinet in every program

Ask each maker for a demo or a trial, and build the same test cabinet in all of them — what to check is listed in the one-cabinet test. Judge the output — the list, the banding, the holes and the file — not the demo. And watch the time: software nobody in the shop has time to learn costs more than any licence.

Cabinet Vision alternatives — frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Cabinet Vision?

There is no single best one. Choose by your machines: for a Homag, Biesse or SCM line, imos or PolyBoard Pro PP; for a CNC router that works from DXF or G-code, Mozaik, PolyBoard or CabiAI, depending on price, computer and how you want to pay.

How much does Cabinet Vision cost?

Hexagon does not publish a price on its website; you get a quote through its sales team. imos does not publish prices either. Mozaik lists $125 to $325 a month, and PolyBoard $2,795 to $5,295 for a lifetime licence (as of October 2026).

Is there a Cabinet Vision alternative that runs on a Mac?

CabiAI runs in the browser, so it works on a Mac. Cabinet Vision, imos and Mozaik require Windows according to their system requirements, and PolyBoard says its Mac customers run it through Boot Camp or a Windows emulator.

Does CabiAI do face-frame cabinets?

No. CabiAI builds frameless (European-style) boxes only. If most of your work is face-frame cabinets, it is not the right tool.

Does CabiAI work with Homag, Biesse or SCM machines?

Only through DXF, if your machine software imports it. CabiAI does not export the native MPR, CIX or PGM formats; for a line like that, imos or PolyBoard Pro PP, which state support for these machines, are a better fit.
